When you take the time to look at things from a different perspective, life is beautiful, especially those inconspicuous things you would ordinarily walk straight past without so much as a second thought or glance.
Down the road from where I live, tucked away in a side street is the entrance to a dishevelled woods. At first glance, nothing worth looking at, hidden from view if you drive pass too fast. But my need to discover and be nosy, led me to its entrance one Sunday afternoon. And a little exploring, I found the most amazing sites upon closer inspection. Who knew bark had so many vivid colours and textures. But one flower caught my attention, a Banksia. From an ordinary distance, it looks quite dull, nothing exciting, yet close up through my lens, I saw intricate detail that reminded me of the legs of a beautiful little creature, the preying mantis. Thoroughly fascinating flower.
