I’m slowly getting through my box of unfinished projects. As part of my separation about a year ago, my ex husband got to keep the sewing machine. No argument from me :) The only sewing I'd volunteer for was that of my scrapbooking pages. However that didn’t go down well at the best of times. A continual battle with blunt needles when he actually wanted to sew quality items….
So a few months ago I trolled the web and found a gorgeous mini scrapbooking sewing machine on Ebay. The cutest little thing. Perfect for my pages and to finish off the fabric book I’d started several months ago, but had yet to make any significant headway with.
And so 2 weeks ago, I dug into my book with a vengeance, happily working away till 3am every morning. What a task to put together, but worth it in the end.
Starting out with plain raw chipboard cutouts for my inner pages. The inner pages desgined and provided by Jenny Crossley.
The front and back covers started out as solid raw chipboard pieces. I adhered a layer of gauze with Golden’s soft gel medium. The top and bottom corners covered with a layer of texture paste, left to dry for a few seconds, then imprinted with a Making Memory Foam stamp. Once dry, a layer of bronze lumieres added, then sprayed with gold and green Glimmer Mists to add some depth.
They frame below cut out of chipboard, texture pasted added and gold rub on's applied.

A close up and side view of my last page. A 2.5cm high hollow box with a birds nest and feathers adhered to the inside. On the base fo the box, I've smeared texture paste in an uneven pattern and spray it with Glimmer Mist.
